Imagine embodying your compulsions in the form of a "Corsican twin" monster and seeing those compulsions outside of yourself. Add to that a few pop culture references and dropping a few interesting lines from William Blake to set the tone.

Also, no one believes you. Until they do, and then try to lie to you about whether or not it is real. Great cinematography and great wardrobe, popping color and a great soundtrack.

I really did enjoy this one, and thanks so much for the subtitles! It was awesome seeing Kim Gordon pop up in this to drop the William Blake knowledge on the kids.

This could have been so much more. It felt like it ended as soon as it got started. Maybe a bit much on the exposition and background of the protagonist and not enough meat in the conclusion.

Most of these reviews, especially the super negative ones, seem to be for Nightmare , where a couple go to bed and wake up finding a video of them committing murders.

This is Der Nachtmahr The Nightmare , where a teen girl goes to a party and then starts seeing this little monster guy everywhere.

Not saying it's the best thing ever, but it seems like Nightmare is worse, at least from the reviews.

Definitely worth watching. As another reviewer pointed out, many of the low reviews on this movie are actually from a different flick.

Der Nachtmahr is a pretty entertaining, creepy, weird movie. The movie suddenly cuts off at - no credits, nothing. This is, hands down, the worst thing I have ever seen.

I put it in the trash can and pretended that I never bought it. Don't bother, just don't. She slowly realizes that the creature is an incarnation of her fears and that it has the same feelings she does.

Afraid of being called a freak she starts hiding the creature in her room. After a while she even gets close to it. It's almost like a relationship with a wild stray animal.

For the first time in her life, it almost seems as if Tina has the courage to be herself. But then her parents and her friends see the creature Written by AnonymousB.

I believe the direction is what undercuts it; moments don't have the impact they should have. Scenes could have been shot and handled better, but with the wobbly camera, the director himself feels like just another stoned bystander among the movie's teenage ravers.

The story is about a party girl who is apparently hit by a car. She survives with no visible injury, but begins to have visions of a creature that looks like a cross between Gollum from "Lord of the Rings" and Dobby the House Elf.

The people around her believe that she is going crazy, and perhaps she is. There are several sequences that appear to show the movie rewinding itself, perhaps as an indication to us that the movie is not occurring on a linear timescale.

It may also be telling us that the events we just witnessed are the culmination of what we are witnessing again in the rewind sequence. The problem is that the movie doesn't have a sure hand at the controls.

It's too disjointed to make you really curious about what you're seeing. The concept is interesting enough, however, to recommend it to students of the weird.
