You just don't care if anyone finds the Light of Zarthon or not. It's worth watching. It grows on you after a while to the point where it's worth 90 minutes of your time.
But the first and third installments in the series were better. MIB 2 is ok, but not nearly as good as the first or third movies. Still worth seeing if you can pick it up as a cheap rental.
Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones make a great couple of "planet protecting special agents"! Additionally, the special effects for the alien creatures used in the show are very impressive, considering how far digital graphic effects have evolved in the past decade.
I'd call this an entertaining film suitable for families with children above the age 7. There is lots of action, special effects body morphing and object transforming I love cars that convert to spacecraft at the push of a button.
There is also great humor, and lots of science-fiction weaponry. It's the classic saga of good over evil, saving the world from destruction by alien forces sent to planet Earth.
You'll enjoy it, despite the predictable ending that we all expect in such tales. Not on this one! I returned it as well.

I had watched the MIB movies several years ago and wanted to share them with my 13 year old grandson. In my opinion, this one is worth skipping.
Both of us felt it was lacking and wish we would have played a board game instead. Sorry Will! This movie tries too hard.
They're back in black, but grey woulda been fine. Hey, they call this kind of movie a sequel nowadays! So, no mystery here - another second rate repeat of a first rate original.

That basically sums up the sequel, too. Not just the plot, but pretty much the entire film. In the first film, an alien with bad intentions crash lands on Earth happens in Part II as well , the alien takes on human form check , the alien wants a mythical device to make them all powerful applicable to both films , if said alien gets their hands on said device then the Earth will be destroyed yup, MIB2 has that one, too.
The first film was awesome. It was funny, charming and basically fun for all the family. Almost every alien-related scene was done on computers and now you can see the green-screen behind the actors as they do their best to act against nothing.
That is what was disappointing about it. If they decide to go the sequel route than have all the best bit and characters. Kay is left to appear half way in the story and they replaced the tabloid newspaper with a very bad section of a tv series.
It was not just badly done but is was plain arwful. The joke had gone sour and why? What we should have was more of Jay and Kay been put back together to fight a alien on Earth that was bring about the end of all life in the universe Etc.
We did have world domination in MIB after all. Report abuse. Decent enough movie ' but not quite as good as the first movie and even worse than the men in black 3 movie which in my opinion is the best of the 3 movies Not including international.
It happens so often a film is released which does very well, so a sequel is made which just isn't as good. Taken on it's own merits its not a bad film, although the plot has some holes you could drive bus through but then it's a sifi film so asking for a beliveable plot is pushing things a bit far, and certainly the fx's are very good; but in comparison to the original which is an easy 5 star film it's just OK.
